After Arvi dropped Kumar and Sanju, they headed towards Raj's house to drop him. Just as they were about to reach, Arvi suddenly mumbled, "You know the girl."
It wasnt a question.
Raj gave a start. How did Arvind know?
All four of them had been friends since school, but Arvi was his oldest buddy. They were together right from his Montessori days. Also, Arvind was extremely observant and had a sharp memory.
"What?" Raj responded after a complete 10 seconds had passed. "Know which girl?" he added.
Arvi smirked, "Dont give me that, you know that I have come to know that you know the girl."
"I dont know, you know" Raj responded.
"Ok. Cut the confusing crap and give me a straight answer. Do you know the girl? The chashme waali girl, we just saw at the restaurant?" asked Arvind.
"Yes. I do. But how did you come to know?" Raj asked.
"YES!!! I knew it !!! See how well I know you" Arvind said.
"But still? I was just ogling at her. And that couldnt give me away, because I ogle at a lot of girls" Raj said.
"Yes, but the way you looked towards the table hurriedly after staring at her for god amount of time and then resisted every bit to turn towards her and then you refused to go and wash your hands at the basin which was right next to her. All these things gave you away." Arvi said. "But basically, it was just a hunch, call it telepathy or our childhood connection." Arvind added.
"Yeah sounds logical, I guess." Raj said.
"Ok then. Come clean now, what else? It is obvious that you are attracted to her.....or in love with her.....or what is it? How do you know her?" Arvind asked.
"Well, I just gave an interview at a company where she is HR head. She took my interview and I was so infatuated by her when I saw her for the first time, that I couldnt even give the interview properly. But, after that we went for a coffee ......TO THE COFFEE MACHINE......" Raj added the last sentence with emphasis, as he didnt want Arvind to think that he had achieved a major 'milestone' with regards to taking the girl out for a coffee date. "We had a nice chat, and at times I felt that she was giving me certain signals from her side too, but I cant be too sure." he added further.
"So now you are waiting for her call or for a call from the company to get closer to her if possible, eh?" Arvind asked.
"Yes, Sherlock" said Raj.
"Well best of luck to you and off you go .....I want to reach home...Bye" saying so Arvind shooed Raj away.
"Im hurt, you wont even listen to the complete story man" Raj said.
"Well it seems that you are still nowhere and I just dont want to get your hopes too high" Arvind smirked.
"Well seems that, that has worked, because Im really depressed now." Raj said and started walking away.
"Arre Raj, bas kyaa? Majak kar raha tha yaar, call karta hu tommorow, you are coming for bowling arent you tommorow?" Arvind called out after Raj.
"Dekhta hu....." Raj said his head bowed.
"What the fuck man? When did he become so touchy?" thought Arvind and scratching his head, put his car into reverse gear by mistake and backed up. He just braked ahead of the car parked on the street.
"Fuck!!" Arvind swore. "Why am I getting confused?" he thought. He put his car into first gear and drove away.
